Mark Warner orders DNA re-test for Roger Keith Coleman case
January 5, 2005 - Virginia Governor Mark Warner has ordered a re-test of DNA evidence in the case of Roger Keith Coleman, a man who was executed in 1992. The governor cited technological advances in DNA testing as a reason for re-examining this evidence.
If these new tests show that Coleman was innocent of the rape and murder of his sister-in-law in 1981, Coleman will be the first person in the United States to be exonerated after his execution. More...
